Meet our new captain Luke Lewis this Friday night at Ipswich

Luke Lewis will make a guest appearance out at North Ipswich Reserve as part of a player meet and greet on Friday 3 February 2012.

Luke will be joined by Dayne Weston and Kevin Kingston who will also spend time with our QLD Panther fans.

When is the game?

The game is Friday February 3 2012 at North Ipswich Reserve at 7:30pm.  Admission $10 adults, $5 pension/concession and children under 16 free.

How to get there?

Train - QR run regular services from the city to Ipswich.  The trip takes around 50 minutes. When you leave Ipswich Station, walk over the bridge on East Street to the ground.  This is at most a fifteen minute walk.

Car -From North Brisbane/Brisbane City: take the Centenary Motorway.  At the Darra exit, take the Ipswich Motorway and then the Warrego Highway exit at Riverview.  Take the Mount Crosby Road exit at North Tivoli.  Continue through the roundabout and turn left at Pine Street.  Then take the first exit at the roundabout onto The Terrace at North Ipswich.

From Gold Coast: (Logan Motorway toll): from the M1 take the Logan Motorway exit at Loganholme.  Exit the Logan Motorway to Brisbane Road at Riverview.  Take the Limestone Road exit into Ipswich and turn right into East Street.  Follow East Street and turn right into The Terrace at North Ipswich.

Pre-match event

Queensland Panthers are working hard on securing a suitable venue close to the ground for QLD Panther Supporters to meet prior to the game.  These details will be updated at the latest 7pm Monday 30 January 2012.

How we support the Panthers

The first time we got together was at a trial match on the Gold Coast in 2005 where the Panthers played the Roosters at Carrarra Stadium.  We had a good response sitting at the southern hill end of the ground.  That would be the only time in 2005 we would meet.

Captain Courageous

Any Panther fan you tell you to today they are delighted at the announcement of local junior Luke Lewis as captain of our club.

I doubt that at any stage anyone else would have been considered for the job.  So it felt like the only thing we waited for was the press conference which took place at 1pm Sydney time today confirming the decision.
